How it all started

A passionate Event Manager with over 10 years’ experience, Casey has worked in a range of sectors, from local government in regional Victoria and iconic-venue spaces in Melbourne, to leading event agencies in London.  She has successfully managed large multicultural festivals, exhibitions and installations, conferences, concerts, product launches and film festivals, from the intimate to the extravagant and with exceptional attention to detail.

Having moved back to Gippsland in mid-2018 to be closer to family, Casey was taking ad-hoc contract work through a local recruitment agency when she noticed that there was a gap in the local market for a highly skilled and established Event Manager, and as such a service provider.  

Speaking with several locals who manage events, ranging from B2B workshops/conferences to community days and festivals, it was apparent that most of these where managed in-house by an Executive Assistant or volunteer community groups, with such events needing to be managed which outside of their regular duties and possibly limited skills and/or knowledge in events – Casey Bonacci Events was established in February 2019.

To get the business started an initial financial cash injection from the company director, along with minimal overheads and working from home, was able to get started prior to confirming client projects.  Income was obtained within the first month of launching by confirming it’s first client and continued to generate a steady income by obtaining more client projects and events throughout the year.  Clients have been established through existing working relationships which, overtime, is expected to grow beyond this immediate circle via word of mouth and networking.

The businesses aim is to grow into a “one stop shop” offering additional services such as, but not limited to; Marketing and Public Relations, Promotional and Event Day Staffing, by recruiting staff or engaging with contractors and/or freelance that are locally based and qualified to fulfil the duties at high standards the business wishes to achieve.
